When to use futuro vs ir + infinitivo

Spoken SP rule: When in doubt, use vou + infinitivo. You’ll sound natural.
Se + presente do indicativo → futuro / vou + infinitivo

Note: After se, use present subjunctive in some structures (B2). At B1, learn high-frequency forms: Se eu tiver, Se der, Se precisar — all common in speech.

In pairs, predict: metro, traffic, rent, tech, climate. Use cada vez mais/menos, vai + inf, futuro.
Activity 3 — Conditional weekend (10 min)
Plan together using Se…, vamos/vou… Minimum 6 exchanges. Include Se der, Se chover, Se tiver tempo.
Activity 4 — Formal interview (5 min)
Person A: HR — asks about 3-year plan (use futuro).
Person B: Answers with farei, ficarei, pretendo.

- Record yourself (2 minutes): your 5-year plan + 2 predictions about SP. Use vou, talvez, se.
- Practice both registers: Say the same plan twice — casual (vou) and formal (farei).

Optional challenge
Write a short formal email to your manager (8 lines) about next quarter plans. Use futuro do indicativo at least 4 times (Entregarei, Participarei, Estarei, Farei).
