Part 1 — Fonética: vogais nasais (Nasal vowels) — 15% new content
Nasal vowels are essential in Brazilian Portuguese. If you skip them, words sound foreign instantly.
The four main nasal vowels

How to produce nasal vowels
- Start the vowel sound normally.
- Let air flow through your nose and mouth at the same time.
- Don’t pronounce a separate n or m — the nasal quality is in the vowel.

Part 2 — Fonética: acentuação e entonação (Stress and intonation)
Word stress types

The accent mark (´, `, ^, ~) shows the stressed syllable when spelling is ambiguous. Most Portuguese words are paroxítonas.

Activity 1 — Nasal vowel drill (5 min)

Activity 2 — Three role-plays (30 min)
In groups of 2–3, perform all three role-plays from Parts 6–8. Switch roles. Teacher gives feedback on fluency and pronunciation.
Activity 3 — Speed review (10 min)
Teacher calls out a topic (greetings, weather, shopping…). Students have 30 seconds to say as many relevant phrases as possible.
Activity 4 — Simulado de prova oral (Oral exam practice) (15 min)
Each student has 3 minutes to:
