Part 1 — Verbo estar (to be — temporary state / location)

When to use estar
Use estar for: feelings, conditions, location (where you are now).

Short answers:
- Estou bem, obrigado(a).

Part 2 — Ser vs estar: quick rule
Both verbs mean “to be” in English, but Portuguese uses them differently.

Greetings connection: Tudo bem? asks about your current state → answer with estou:
- Tudo bem? — Estou bem! / Tudo bem!
Note: In casual speech you’ll hear tá instead of está — same verb, informal form. Learn está first.
