Feriados Traffic on rodovias is terrible on long weekends. Brazilians say pegamos trânsito or ficamos horas no engarrafamento. Plan early or stay in SP!

Compound past in real life You’ll hear Tenho ido… for habits lately. For ontem and semana passada, always fui, comi, vi — never compound.

Storytelling fillers Use: Aí… / Então… / Nisso… / De repente… / No final… — makes speech sound natural.

  1. Write a story (12–15 sentences) about a real or imagined trip from SP. Use: primeiro, depois, de repente, no final + 5 irregular verbs.

  3. Conjugate ser/ir, ter, fazer, ver, vir in all 6 persons (past tense).

  1. Record a 2-minute story about your best/worst day in Brazil (or imagined).
  2. Practice irregulars aloud: fui, tive, fiz, vi, vim, dei, disse — with one example sentence each.
  3. Real life: Tell someone about something you did recently — full mini-story with connectors.

Optional challenge

Plan a bate-volta from SP (real destination). Write: transport, duration, activities, what could go wrong (de repente…), and whether vale a pena.
